Jagara treat us to a track that will keep the party going into the early hours.
The London born sister-trio, along with the trail-blazing Croatian producer Damjan Blazun, treat us to a track that will keep the party going into the early hours. Inspired by such wide ranging elements as the city lights of Berlin and choral music, ‘Into the Night’ is a love-letter to the mask of the night-time, to the freedom of the dance floor and the pleasure of connecting to one’s authentic self.
Soothing and self-assured, Fergus Channell and Demelza’s latest single will have you gazing into a delicate world of guitar-led indie jazz.
As only the third single from this Birmingham-based artist, Channell continues to triumph through his music's resistant bliss. Written and recorded with Demelza’s lead singer Cherry, the duo intertwine with ease. Wordlessly sidestepping each other above the tide jangling guitars. Melodiously slowing your heart rate in a way that few songs can manage.
Londoners Huntar and Hoost attempt to manifest a better reality in their intoxicating new collaboration, ‘Bad Luck’.
A single which transcribes FOMO into the airwaves, the duo melt electronic beats together with elements of power-pop to create a bubbling concoction of indie. Written back in 2017 but given more meaning in the pandemic world, it's a track of supersonic texture. Moving with an undercurrent of forceful synths, percussion and lyrics which reference the dystopian world of Stranger Things, it plays with pop culture to create a plea for a better life.
Warming even the coldest of nights, DREUW's new single, ‘Nothing’, is fire for the soul.
Embodying the tracks winter artwork, this Leeds-based artist enchants your body with the sparks of indie-folk. Hypnotising you with its ever-changing woodpile of sounds, its base of delicately strummed guitar is slowly engulfed by gusts of synth and percussion. Conducted by DREUW's rich vocals, these textures work harmoniously to reject the song's title. Rejoicing in an acceptance of having no one but yourself to rely on.
Bad weather and sleeping go hand in hand, and as do Storm: Season and their new single ‘Catch Z’s’.
Taking inspiration from Electro Pop, Indie rock, Anti-pop and lofi, the Birmingham-based band have crafted their own style and are reaping the benefits from it. While most bands attempt to fit into certain sounds, Storm: Season refuses to be categorized and allows themselves to fully express their artistic freedom. Fans of Frank Ocean, Tyler the creator, Twenty one pilots, and Gorrilaz will go absolutely crazy for these guys.
Dispirited Spirits is not true to the name, but this is no bad thing by any means.
Dispirited Spirits is not true to the name, but this is no bad thing by any means. After grabbing the attention of listeners around the world with a memorable debut single, the Portuguese project returns with their euphoric Tame Impala-esque single ‘Reverie’. Dispirited Spirits is a project founded by Rodrigo Dias, a 17-year old musician whose DIY works consist of extremely dynamic and fluid compositions that lie within the genres of Indie Rock, Neo-psychedelia, and Indietronica.
Being left on read is never a nice feeling, but being left on read by Stef Pesic, well … that’s not so bad.
Being left on read is never a nice feeling, but being left on read by Stef Pesic, well ... that’s not so bad. The London-based singer-songwriter has the ability to drift in-between genres and own each one he enters. Whether it be indie-rock, bedroom-pop, RnB, or even jazz, he takes it in his stride. This time, Stef has returned following his previous release of the upbeat ‘Don’t Hesitate’ with his hip-hop/trap tinged new single ‘On Read’, which is a credit to this artist’s versatility. The song follows the feeling of lost communication, late-night texts, and regrets on things said in the heat of the moment. Something that will resonate with every listener.
jetsetforevr lays the foundations of his legacy in debut single ‘Skeletons’ (Interview)
Distilling the disorientating energy of late-night, early-morning parties into a hip-pop single ready to intoxicate the senses, this single sees the Toronto-based artist join forces with the electric vocals of 12AM. Lyrically situated in darkness, with a refrain that calls for death, jetsetforevr has the power to completely distract you from his haunting sentiments. Captivating you instead with an array of beats perfectly primed to numb your senses and get you moving.
Michael Baker is so extremely talented, and the release of his new album ‘How Come You sleep’ is proving exactly this.
Michael Baker is so extremely talented, and the release of his new album ‘How Come You Sleep’ is proving exactly this. Growing up in the beautiful city of Brighton, Michael began his musical journey at 8, but it was in his teens is where the songs soon began to flow. His highly acclaimed debut album was created out the back of his van, whilst his sophomore album saw him climb even higher. Now, for his third studio album, Michael has teamed up with long-time friend Andrew Stuart-Buttle, and it appears he has gone bigger and better once again.
Dave Huntriss showcases new shoegazey track as his first single in four years, 'Dreams About Rooms'.
Dave Huntriss is a Bristol-based musician who has been making and releasing music since he was a teenager, saying he has been “writing and recording alone in various bedrooms” for several years. He is known in his local area for performing with artists such as Nicholson Heal, Kate Stapley and Hailaker, and releases this single four years after his debut solo album ‘[Re]collection’ which came out in May 2017. Huntriss also lists some of his influences as Bon Iver and Phoebe Bridgers, both of which can be instantly recognised in his newest song ‘Dreams About Rooms’.
NED explores alternative R&B in his third release, ‘INDECISIVE’
NED highlights some of his influences as Frank Ocean, Brockhampton, Mac Miller and Joji, some of the leading names in alternative R&B though the mid to late 2010’s. This inspiration can definitely be felt in this track through the vulnerable lyrics and emotion portrayed through his delivery.
Cody Francis makes you reflect with his indie-pop track ‘Fall Down, Repeat’
'Fall Down' is the new single from Utah based artist Cody Francis was created solely by him, working every instrument and producing this alone in his bedroom studio at home. This is his first venture, and a successful one at that, into the fusion of indie and pop, saying that previously he had been producing strictly indie-folk music.
Ella Eliza gifts us with the new single ‘ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?’ a stunning, brooding take on loneliness.
Continuing to carve out her own sonic genre, ‘ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?’ sees Ella Eliza honing in and refining her trademark blend of Electro Pop and contemporary RnB. This unique, but irresistible sound manifests itself on the track in its unyielding bass line and tantalising beat, paired with silky synths and Ella Eliza’s very own honey-dipped vocals. Both in her musical direction and her lyrical themes, the artist finds such strength of voice and creative cohesion on this track.
A jangly, psych-infused, electro-pop chiller- Esports Player’s latest single ‘Self-care’ is the perfect precursor to summer.
Another incredible example of self-isolation musical genius, Esports Player is the lockdown-induced solo project of singer-songwriter Jack Kwiecinski. ‘Self-care’ is as nostalgic as it is futuristic in terms of its sonic direction. The electro-psych buzz of the likes of Tame Impala is fused with the 80s jangle pop of Orange Juice, to create a wholly unique and current sound that indie fans will love. Kwiecinski’s nonchalant vocals glide over the track with ease, as he laments the pitfalls of social isolation and anxiety and mourns a period of real highs in his life.
The latest musical offering from L E A, ‘Anyone’, is a bad-ass, no-filter slice of sass-laden Pop Rock.
Energetic, somewhat gritty and with a hefty dose of Rock, L E A could quite feasibly be the lovechild of P!nk and Nothing But Thieves frontman Conor Mason. With pounding percussion and guitar licks with attitude, L E A masterfully captures the essence of bustling city nightlife in her sound. Her bold, yet melodic vocals lead the way, adding a dash of alt-pop as she touches on the fantasy of a former high school crush and how easy it can be to fall back on what you know.
