WHEN YOU LISTEN, YOU’LL NOTICE THE SONG REALLY IS CAPABLE OF SWEET-TALKING TO YOU.
Anthony Mustaca’s new single ‘I’m Okay With Sweet Talk’ must be relatively accurate, as when you listen to his latest release, you’ll notice the song really is capable of sweet-talking to you. Anthony is a little bit of an enigma, he has been playing music since the age of 5 but has only just started exploring his voice, and his own production style. The single follows the complex story about a person who’s potential relationship takes a turn for the worse but knows what they are worth, and where to draw the line. The type of challenging lyrics you delve into when you really have discovered your own style.
Jacko Hooper is back with the winter warmer, ‘Muttered Words’.
Jacko Hooper is back with the winter warmer, ‘Muttered Words’. Ebbing out of his Brighton bedroom for this sixth single of the year, Hooper has folded love into each of the folk ballad's minimal layers. Clear of its intention, the track flows like a stream of thermal heat making their way through a barren climate of acoustic ice. Lit by sunbeams of lyrics searching for a sustained love, in opposition to the track’s title, the message is crystal clear.
LET THE GROOVE OF DUKE AND THE DRY CLEANERS LATEST SINGLE ‘REVOLVING DOOR’ WASH YOUR SORROWS AWAY.
Keep on keeping on and let the groove of Duke and The Dry Cleaners latest single ‘Revolving Door’ wash your sorrows away. The London-based Nu-funk group burst onto the scene earlier this year and have gone from strength to strength in developing their modern, original and completely un-gimmicky take on jazz and funk music. ‘Revolving Door’ brings a hearty dose of nostalgia to the table, yet is still so incredibly fresh and vibrant.
‘NOTHING ELSE’ WILL MATTER WHEN YOU HEAR THE STRANDS NEW RELEASE
Maybe the Autumnal months have got you done, and S.A.D has hit you with its full force. Well, ‘Nothing Else’ will matter when you hear The Strands new release. The jovial new single ‘Nothing Else’ will make you forget about all of life’s problems. The type of joy that makes you want to skip down the street when listening. The Strands have been described as rowdy and boisterous, but this merely adds to their charismatic charm. Hailing from the working-class corners of the North East, they’re slowly working their way down the country making a name for themselves.
Sacropolis offer up a serving of completely unadulterated Indie Rock in the form of their latest single ‘Home’.
Sacropolis offer up a serving of completely unadulterated Indie Rock in the form of their latest single ‘Home’. The Frankfurt-based four-piece seem to have somewhat mastered the method of creating the ultimate Indie Rock track, despite their relatively recent venture onto the music scene. They take a formulaic approach to music-making, marrying rhythmic, yet sketchy drums, with a very present and uplifting guitar riff, a commanding bassline and that all-important and incredibly catchy melody, to create a rousing Indie Rock masterpiece.
CLAIMING HIS TIME IN THE SPOTLIGHT, SHYAWAY’S RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘SMILE FOR THE CAMERA’
Claiming his time in the spotlight, SHYAWAY’s latest release, ‘Smile For The Camera’ is an intoxicating commentary society’s performatism. The solo project of Brighton-based multi-instrumentalist Adam Macaulay, he takes pop and makes it uniquely his own. Breaking free from the silence through a guitar which soon becomes a voice in its own right, Macaulay claims dominance through his stylistic commentary on modern culture.
Take a sonic escape to sun-drenched beaches and coastal cafes with A Band Called Tom’s latest EP.
Take a sonic escape to sun-drenched beaches and coastal cafes with Tom Besley, aka A Band Called Tom’s debut EP ‘I Don’t Know What it Feels Like to be Cool’. The third single and title track of his latest EP, distils the Leeds-based artist’s modern blend of indie surf-pop/rock effortlessly, as he voices the anxieties that inevitably manifest themselves in newly formed relationships. This feeling of unease is expressed in Besley’s fast-paced lyrics and racing guitar, set against a backdrop of busy, snare-heavy percussion

Wynona Bleach present us with a ‘Glimmer’ of hope and optimism with their most recent single. Redbook’s Latest Single ‘Little Friend’ Offers Comfort In Tough Times.
With lockdown proving to be rather difficult in regard to the social aspect, and not being able to see friends, Redbook’s latest single ‘Little Friend’ offers a little extra comfort in tough times. Redbook’s new release ‘Little Friend’ has truly captured their finest moment. With the band suffering from a cruel case of grass-is-greener syndrome. ‘Little Friend’ is a little reminder not to look past your own plate when seeing what others have been served.
Cat Ryan Don’t Follow Any Criteria, And It Seems They Are Better Off Without One.
Cat Ryan don’t follow any criteria, and it seems they are better off without one. The Newcastle three-piece have released their new single ‘Mary Shelley Song’ which is so difficult to pin down to a specific genre, but perhaps this is why Cat Ryan are flourishing. So often a new band will try too hard to fit a square peg in a round hole, but Cat Ryan are more than happy being the square peg that doesn’t want to fit in. Whatever the case, Cat Ryan appear to be paving the way for a new era of British dreamy indie-pop, and along the way they can be sure to amass quite the following.
It Ain’t Easy To Curate Such A Feel Good Track, But Mog Jones Does It Effortlessly.
It isn’t always easy to curate such a feel-good indie track, but Mog Jones seems to do so effortlessly. The prolific singer-songwriter from Cornwall has released her second single ‘It Ain’t Easy’, coming from her forthcoming LP. Mog’s music is a brilliant breath of fresh air, it is the perfect combination of glam-rock and country, with a dash of post-punk attitude added into the mix for good measure.
Hounds Haul’s new single Has That Infectious Energy That Will Not Only Make You Roam, But Likely Get Up And Run.
Hounds Haul’s new single ‘The Roamer’ has that infectious energy that will not only make you roam, but likely get up and run. With music being described as driving synth rock, through eccentric tunes with a big, albeit slightly gothic resonance. Having been backed by BBC Introducing, there is every reason to be seriously excited about these guys.
Spangled’s New Single ‘Nosedive’ Will Have You Flinging Yourself Head First Into It.
If you’re currently stuck for music, Spangled have just released their new single ‘Nosedive’, which will almost certainly have you flinging yourself head first into. Spangled formed in March 2019, growing up with the sounds of The Stone Roses, Oasis, and The Smiths, all of which combined with the modern sound of the DMA’s. Spangled’s music is the beautiful combination of when English Indie-pop music meets early 2000s classic Rock. People may have questioned whether it works, but it definitely does.
It May Be Flu Season, But Lime’s New Single ‘Fever’ Is The Only Vibe You’ll Want To Catch This Winter.
Although it may be flu season, Lime’s new single ‘Fever’ is the only vibe you’ll want to be catching this Winter. ‘Fever’ provides the listener a window into the mind of generation Z. A song that dissects the vanity of modern society, and simply asks ‘Why?’. It is simply brilliant to see a relatively new band taking on such complex sociocultural issues and reflecting these concerns within their music. With the likes of Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson and Phil Taggart all early supporters, it's quite a telling sign that Lime are going places.
Budget Pablo Escobar’s Deal Out Stardog, But The Rills Are Dealing Out Indie Rock Anthems.
Indie’s latest star boys The Rills have returned with their excellent record ‘Stardog’. The name for The Rills latest single stems from the amalgamation of small-town dealers they knew growing up in London. A big fish in a small pond. A bloke who works a normal job on weekdays but becomes a satirical Pablo Escobar on the weekends. As for The Rills, the only thing they have been dealing out is Indie Rock anthems.
Storming through your soul, Maud’s sophomore single, ‘Bad Things’, reveals she is doing far from bad for you.
Storming through your soul, Maud’s sophomore single, ‘Bad Things’, reveals she is doing far from bad for you. Moving over a sea of consciousness, prepping for battle with deep synths and lightning-fast lyrics, this is Northern Norway’s Maud’s electronic tempest. Switching its deep textures like the wind absentmindedly changed its direction, the clouds darken to fall with the chorus’ mesmerising mantra for health.
