Embark on a spiritual journey with Stanley Duke and The Kindred Spirits’ “Isolation Tarot”.
Glam-rock god Stanley Duke is back with a serving of delicious psychedelic goodness in the shape of “Isolation Tarot”. As the title suggests, this EP was inspired by Stanley’s experience of isolation during the pandemic and his use of Tarot cards to come to terms with his experiences. Like walking through an alternate reality, this EP is a seamless musical delight that oozes sensuality and mystery, ebbing and flowing with classic sounds of psychedelic rock. Evoking the “crumble and melt” of our pre-pandemic lives, “Isolation Tarot” is a journey into our inner self and a path to new beginnings.
Atone for your sins with The Very Reverend’s newest track “HOLYGHOST”.
The Very Reverend is not afraid to peer straight into darkness. Having released his single “BELLADONNA” earlier on in the year, the west-coast alt-rocker Justin Chamberlain aka The Very Reverend is back with a worthy follow up, “HOLYGHOST”. A distorted, reverberating nightscape dripping with a snarky rock-attitude, this track peels back the layers of who we really are under our shinny façade, celebrating the imperfections and rejecting the false gods of vanity.
Unleash your inner introvert with Fauna’s new release, “Didn’t Wanna”.
Fauna are the types of guys you wish you could be friends with. With their laidback, outspoken attitude, 70’s rock-influenced sound and a firm commitment to keep on “just vibing” and “trying to avoid the day job”, these Manchurians are both incredibly relatable and enormously cool. Did I mention that they brew their own beer? Yeah, it’s called “Didn’t Wanna IPA” in honour of their latest single, “Didn’t Wanna”, and in remembrance of all those times during lockdown when we couldn’t grab a pint at the pub.
“Love I Never Had” is APW’s soulful groove from the heart.
Hailing from Manchester, APW is not what you would expect from a working class boy. Proudly Queer, this stage-trained and deeply charismatic songwriter grew up listening to the best of soul and disco, now radiating the energy and the groove of the genres in his own music. With warm, reverberating vocals reminiscent of Stevie Wonder’s, APW is there to whisk us away from the gloom and banality of everyday life into the shimmering world of his musical vision.
Donna ‘La Mulatta’ is telling it like it is with her newest track “Tell me the truth”.
Parisian underground singer Donna ‘La Mulatta’ intermixes soul and house in her story-driven single “Tell me the truth”. Depicting the breakdown of a relationship in the middle of a party, the song is driven by her acidic and brutally honest lyrics, contrasting the heartache enunciated by them with the jubilant mood of the music. This is Donna’s second collaboration with the Lille-based producer Fair’Son, following in the footsteps of a similarly soulful “Let’s go to the party”.
Hongza offers intuitive glimpse into contemporary politics with visceral EP ‘Gen Z’
Through unapologetic celebration of indie rock, ‘Gen Z’ is a nostalgic take on what self-identity would mean without the validation of social media. The EP opens with ‘Cure Me’, a full-bodied, guitar-laden examination of falling in love. “I’m so broken”, he sings, speaking to the insecurities of the self-aware generation. Electric feedback rings out in glorious tribute to the lo-fi imperfections of live music.
Telemarkk are turning their heads to the sun in their latest single, ‘Bloom’.
Distilling even the most terrible situation into a world of vibing positivity, the two-piece burrow themselves into your mind and playlists with this new groove inducing single. Born out of the incomprehensive panic of isolation and the questioning of relationships that followed, it twists blues to its euphoria in just a few short bars.
Fonzy and Company have released their latest track ‘Beyond My Control’ that is totally out of control, in the best possible way.
Fonzy and Company have released their latest track ‘Beyond My Control’ that is totally out of control, but in the best possible way. The Bristol based Alt Rock outfit consisting of Fonzy, Sam and Olivia have known each other for seven years working and playing in Bristol’s music scene, and then came Jed Long who totally shifted the dynamic of the band, and here they are now, releasing music that absolutely rocks. Fonzy and C
Kick back and enjoy yourself with overpass’ feel-good track “Stop the Clock”.
Birmingham’s newest indie act, overpass, are on the rise. Since forming in 2020, the band has gained an ever-growing fan base, earning over 800,000 views across social media, as well as scoring a number of BBC Introducing radio spots and a supporting space for The Clause. Having released their first two singles “One Night Lover” and “Otherside of Midnight” to wide acclaim, overpass are ready to headline a gig of their own, but you are out of luck if you want a ticket – they were sold out within an hour.
Point Lobo is the musical and visual project of legendary drummer Miles Senzaki
Point Lobo is the musical and visual project of Miles Senzaki, drummer for the legendary hip-hop group The Pharcycle and composer for the hit podcast The End Of The World. So I guess you could say, he is a man of very vast talents. ‘Broken Parts’ is the lead single off of the new Tacoma Narrows EP that is out later in June, and is a song about mental health, written during a desperate time. This Gary Numan-inspired track will also be accompanied alongside an animated video and 3D artwork.
Coupdekat is dialling up to capture your attention with her new single, ‘Love Online’.
Intoxicating your senses from its first ring of synths, this follow up to her new year debut solidifies Katherine Reilly's claim to the title of modern rock chic. Blending the decisive lyricism of GIRLI with the late-night sky of 80s rock and cool breeze of lo-fi, this single sees her navigate the twilight world of digital dating.
‘Bad Person’ offers a lighthearted glimpse into Garvie’s career worries
As far as lockdown projects go, Garvie certainly has a lot to shout about. While most of us gorged ourselves on uncooked banana bread, this London-based artist taught himself to produce music on the back of a rather abrupt career change from the original goal of writing for other artists. His debut single – a tongue-in-cheek analysis of his own career – embodies the virtual lands of a game console, following an indie artist’s avatar as he attempts to get signed in the cutthroat music industry.
Air Circus release sensational new single ‘The Last Time’ ft Dj Maisie Mais
Air Circus got together in the spring of 2019, and have never looked back since. And you can tell through the music they are creating. Having known each other from separate music classes in school, Air Circus placed the first steps into becoming a fully fledged band. After a few sessions practising Mac Demarco tracks for assignments, they began working on their own sound, and now it is sounding so, so good. Due to coronavirus, like so many, Air Circus tried to work remotely, but the creativity just wasn’t there. As soon as they could meet in gardens, they did, and since then have been creating sensational music.
Charlie Moss invites us into his creative world with brand new single ‘The Ride’.
Welcome along to the journey of the summer as Charlie Moss invites you all to check out his brand new single ‘The Ride’. Following Charlie is certainly a ride, but one definitely worth following. Charlie uses his music as a platform to maintain a conversation and campaign on mental health, and is not afraid to address and share his personal aperture. Charlie was born for the indie music scene, his dreamy guitar layers, soaring harmonies and emotive but genuinely raw music are all ensuring that Charlie Moss is slowly but surely making a name for himself within the industry.
Double Wish answers your prayers for a new oasis of indie in debut single, ‘Fever Dream’.
Pulling you deep into a dark lagoon of space, this Californian artist blasts through your soul with the nostalgic force of jangling guitars, synths and distortion. A single which has lived amongst the stars of GarageBand since 2017, it has only now been crystallised into a releasable form with the help of a long-time friend, musician and producer Philippe Andre.
Bailey Coats finds that there is ‘Something In The Water’ in this new single.
As only the fifth single from this emerging pop artist, she infuses the track's euphoric beats with the ticking of the time bomb of infidelity. Channelling the energy of break-up connoisseurs like Fletcher, the track moves with bubbling synths and textured vocals into an anthemic chorus which will have you singing along at the top of your lungs.
